Be in love with your life... Every detail of it.

Hi there! My name is Cat. What you'll find here is an ongoing love letter to adventure & my hometown of San Francisco; an amalgamation of pictures, thoughts, quotes, and trouble making of a twenty something graduate student in the city. Thanks for stopping by. Next time bring a cookie.

Sleeping Beauties

When animals are asleep, they are at their most vulnerable; even the most dangerous predator can look beautiful & gentle while sleeping. When in the land of dreams, all creatures are equals in this world. We are all Sleeping Beauties, just like the creatures in these beautiful sleeping animal pictures.

I love this…

I’m currently…

In a taxi cab listening to the loveliest Ethiopian music as the taxi driver hums along on the way to 21st Amendment for hell or high watermelon beer with 9 of my favorite people to be followed by us all going to the giants game on this sunny San Francisco day. That’s one damn good run on sentence.

True story. When I was in 8th grade I acquired an unhealthy obsession for Janis Joplin. I read every biography, covered my walls with photographs of her, made my own bell bottom jeans, and immersed myself in all things Janis. One of my favorite stories I read in one of the books involved a friend talking about the time when Janis apparently just bought a new car (a VW bug if my tipsy 2 am mind is remembering correctly) and asked directions to some place. Her friend, the one decades later recounting the story, said something to the effect of “yeah it’s a straight shot, just take Valencia all the way down to 24th.”Well Janis was stopped by the cops and got ticket because she didn’t listen to any of the stop signs along the street. She just drove on through; Her friend had told her to just straight shoot it and she had believed them… to a fault. While most people would have still paid attention to lights and rules, Janis went off the words of her friend, blindly trusting and listening. This story always stuck with me. Behind the rebellion and freedom seeking was a girl longing to be told the truth and have someone she could blindly trust.
